Triathlete-senator finishes strong at Ironman 70.3

Senator Pia S. Cayetano turned in another solid performance at the 3rd Cobra Ironman 70.3 held Sunday (August 14) at the CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Cayetano completed the grueling race, consisting of a 1.9-km. swim, a 90-km. bike ride and 21.1-km run, with a time of 6 hours and 4 minutes, earning her third place honors in her age-group in the women’s division.

A veteran of the first two editions of the country’s premier international triathlon meet, Cayetano placed second in her age group in 2009 and third in 2010.

This year’s staging gathered a total of 1,100 individuals, 11 professional athletes and 99 relay teams from 28 countries. #
