Senator Pia leads ‘Let’s Read!’
Book donation and reading activity for young kids in Taguig

Stressing the importance of promoting the habit of reading among children, especially in poor communities in the metropolis, Senator Pia S. Cayetano will lead a book donation and book reading activity for young children in Taguig City on Thursday, July 14.

Called ‘Let’s Read!’ the event is a joint effort of the lady senator, in partnership with Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano and Barangay Fort Bonifacio Chairman Lino Cayetano.

About 100 children, aged three to six years, will immediately benefit from the books that will be turned over by Sen. Cayetano to the barangay for the reading corner of its community day care center.

The afternoon will also be highlighted by a book reading session and fun activities to be led by Sen. Pia, Mayor Lani and Chairman Lino.

‘Let’s Read!’ is part of the senator’s Early Reading Project, a year-round program which encourages mothers to read story books with their children to instill in them the value of reading at an early age.

The program is also in support of the city government’s thrust to invest in education and uplift the public school system under Mayor Lani Cayetano. #
