Bill establishing science high school in Antipolo OK’d

A national science and technology high school will soon rise at the heart of Rizal province after senators approved on Monday House Bill 4366, which seeks to establish the Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School.

Passed on third and final reading, HB 4366 was sponsored in the Senate by Senator Pia S. Cayetano, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Education, Arts and Culture, and in the House of Representatives by Deputy Speaker Roberto Puno (Antipolo, 1D) and Rep. Kimi Cojuangco (Pangasinan, 5D), chairperson of the House Committee on Basic Education and Culture.

Under the measure, the secretary of education shall immediately include the operationalization of the Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School in program of the Department of Education (DepEd), while its funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. #
